If you compare the mean math SAT scores from Mount Si to other high schools we are considerably lower than many neighboring high schools. The lines in the chart show the mean score of the admitted freshman to those corresponding universities.
In districts with more than 5000 students ~60 districts, SVSD has the highest percent of students enrolled in running start. Why are students leaving our high school in such high numbers? Are there problems we need to know about? Is this the direction more schools will be moving? We need to research and report on this topic.
Since the 2011-12 school year, Mt Si student enrollment in Running Start has increased 3x. Our attendance doubled in just 2 years? We need to understand why students are leaving and what outcomes these students are experiencing.
Contrary to the recent district newsletter, SVSD's 2016-17 SBA scores fell well below most of our neighboring districts. Our math scores put us last in elementary math! And although our 6th graders did well, our other middle school grades were tied for second to last.
